I have a few new readers so I'll give a brief overview of the issue I'm having with my neck: I have a disc extrusion that's causing some serious pain in my shoulder and arms. If I must get technical, it's fucked up.
Have any of you had nerve pain? Basically it feels like there's a searing hot dagger stabbed through the back of my shoulder, and it never goes away. EVER. There's nothing I can do to alleviate the pain - it's just constant and irritating as shit. When the orthopedist recommended surgery to fix the problem I basically told him to chop, trim, slice, or dice, just get rid of the fucking pain. Ok, maybe I didn't say fucking but I really wanted to, loud enough for the waiting room to hear. Damn that would be funny...
Tomorrow I get to visit the neurosurgeon to see what he has to say. I'm thinkin I'll ask him to nip the part of the disc that's extruding, then go ahead and tuck a bit of my double chin, then maybe an eyelid lift. So what if he's not a plastic surgeon, don't doctors in small towns just do a little bit of everything?
Anyhoo, if it is just a nip of the piece that's sticking out (or a disc-ectomy as the orthopedist called it), recovery time should be around 7-10 days. I was a little embarrassed when I was told that little nugget, because the thought of being away from work for a week and a half, even in pain from surgery, made me excited enough to want to hump his leg.
I'll go ahead and leave you with that visual and if there's anything new and exciting to report I'll get on the horn and let you all know.
You're welcome.

Hell - that sounds painful as hell! Hope the appointment with the neurosurgeon goes well, and perhaps restrain from humping his (or her!) leg... all that motion might not be the best cure for neck problems :-)
Ouchie! All the best with the specialist.
Ouch! I have a fucked up neck and back and the chiropractor has really helped. Maybe he'll tuck your chin if you hump his leg?
I'll give an update soon, but for now I'll just say there was no humping. :(
No humping..but there will be cutting? Thats just unsat. There needs to be some joy for the pain. I have been visiting the neurosurgeon as well and also have been told ten days off. I'm not going to hump his leg though. :-)

I've been given three months to recover after I have my arm and spine op (soon). I confess the thought of humping my very large German Surgeon didn't occur to me.
Even now with your thought firmly embedded in my brain - I think I'd choose the pain. Hairy legs just don't do it for me.
PS - Enjoyed reading what I have of your blog thus far.

Hello Rory! Hairy leg humping aside, glad you're here!
everyone is humping things recently on blogs... I should do it too I think.
I want to hump!
