Today was such a stressful day, the culmination of a couple months of anxiety over our yearly evaluations at work.  Yes I still work with TSA.  SHUT UP.  Anyhoo, in Denver  it was so busy a day didn't go by when one of us didn't do a dozen bag checks or pat downs before lunch.  Here in the sticks we're lucky to have one pat down per week, if that.  Not that I'm complaining - just doesn't make for much practice.

Amanda helped me practice the last couple of days, and both the kids cheered for me as I left for work, excitedly saying "You can do it Mom, you'll do GREAT!!"  I was so happy to report to them that I passed everything with flying colors, and Amanda's reply was that she knew I'd do just fine.  Thank gawd for my kids 'cause they have a way of believing in me when I can't muster the confidence to do it myself.

Add to that an extra couple hours at the end of the work day because of a delayed flight and you have one tired mama - thankfully today is my Friday, and it couldn't have come at a better time.  The kids are off this week for spring break which means the three of us will have two full days together, a first since last summer.  I'm seriously deliriously happy about this and we may very well spend the entire day in bed watching movies.

I can't think of a better way to spend my two days off...

I'm sure that as appealing as this sounds you will get out of bed at some point and you'll go out there with the kids. SO I will be waiting for pictures :D

Woke up to a full blanket of snow and 32 degrees on the thermometer. Perfect for inside laziness. :)

SNOW? Oh No!
Well then absolutely stay inside and watch films and enjoy.

I remember when I was 24 and had 2 kids (John 3, and Sheila 3 months) and in the midst of a divorce, I couldn't wait for Fridays! My kids would spend the night in my bed for the next two nights and we'd have a movie fest. Yes, the baby slept, but my son and I drank hot chocolate and ate cookies until after midnight for two nights! Oddly, despite the turmoil, it was the best time of my life. That was 40 years ago now.

Linda, that is exactly what we do! Since I get up very early on their weekends, they pile in bed with me so they can watch movies and stay up as late as they want while I snuggle into them and fall asleep. I look forward to those nights more than anything, and I'm loving having those nights for a week straight! Best time of my life as well - I wouldn't give it up for anything.

Does your son remember that at all?

Actually, he does. He and I watched something called "Creature Features" on Saturday nights. (I probably should have had child protective services on me for this!) They were mainly silly monster movie, but he loved them. We also would leave the apartment with a picnic to go to the park if the house was a mess. (Yeah, I was so responsible! Hah!) Good days. Stresses, sure, but all in all, it's a wonderful time and better for the lack of drama and anger from a bad relationship.
