My boy, who had just finished his latest novel, sidled up next to me with one of his Christmas gifts, the latest book in the Eragon series, Inheritance.
How many pages are in your book Mom?
Eight hundred and forty-two, I said with a smug grin. How many in YOUR book little boy?
Eight hundred and forty-nine. I have you beat by SEVEN pages...hehe...
It's ok, I don't need my ego anyway.
Little shit.

Haha! No chance of developing an ego with him around :-)
Happy New year to you!
Wee Bastid!
Brilliant little Smart Ass.
By the way my dad has read that book you bought and said it is AWESOME.
I am gonna read it too.
xx
I just finished it last night - excellent book!
He keeps me humble that's for sure. Happy New Year to you too Nat!
You're talking to someone who felt compelled to beat fourth graders in timed multiplication quizzes.
My husband just finished that book and said it was a great read! Enjoy!
Wait... just saw your comment about finishing that book already.... WHAT?? Thats some serious reading in a couple of days. Good for you!
Having just read King's book "On Writing," and nothing else he'd ever written I was eager to download a sample of his latest book, but at the end of about the first 20 pages or so I wasn't drawn in enough to buy the thing. You'll have to do a review for us.
My husband loves Stephen King. He's a great writer, but I have trouble reading him. He creates these wonderful little characters, makes you love them, and then kills them off in a dreadful fashion. Your son's book is longer than that one? Oy vey!
I've got it on my nightstand. Just finishing Twighlight. The first book I ever read for the second time. Looking forward to 11/2/63.
