Denied

I thought they would understand when I gave them documentation of events that happened as a result of his alcohol abuse. I thought they would understand when I verbally explained to them the trauma my children have experienced as a result of events that have happened because of his alcohol abuse. I thought they would understand that there is no 24-hour daycare and even if there was, it is not fair to my children to retrieve them at 1:30 in the morning. I thought they would understand when they read the police incident report that this is more than a daycare issue.

My hardship request to change my schedule to days was "not validated" because it does not meet the established hardship criteria. Denied. My children needing a safe, secure environment is not valid. If they were the ones explaining that to my children, maybe they would reconsider.

I'm not looking for pity, I'm not trying to have anyone feel sorry for me. I just need to vent...I feel like Michael Douglas's character in the movie "Falling Down." I've HAD it.

I am SOOO sorry to hear this, Kim. I wish there was something I could do. Please stay as positive as you can and overcome this horrible decision. Know how strong you are!

Wow. I'm sorry, Kim. All I can think to say is that usually, when something this important falls through, it's because something better is in line. I know that's cliche, but if it's a thought you hold onto, the universe will help you find that something better.
