Giddy little schoolgirl

As much as I would LOVE to keep working for TSA forever and ever and beyond, as much as I enjoy being a part of one of the most hated agencies in America, as much as I love to handle peoples' stanky shoes, fat bellies, and disgusting bags, I have decided to go back to college.

I enjoyed a very little bit of college back in the late 90s when my stupid mind thought it wanted to be an elementary school teacher.  Having my first child solidified the craziness of that idea.

A few of us were sitting around the break room recently talking about school, and I mentioned that I've thought about and looked into film school, but because it's so expensive I never went past the *idea* stage.  A young co-worker, still fairly knowledgeable about colleges in the area, said that Northwest College has a good film production program.

Ding dang, that's all it took.  Northwest College is only about twenty-five minutes away, and I could probably qualify for some good grants.  I want to learn it all - directing, producing, editing, screenwriting...ALL of it.

I applied and am currently waiting to hear whether or not I've been accepted, so please keep those fingers and toes crossed that this all goes well.  I am giddy with excitement at the prospect of being able to use my creativity in this way.

What a boring post I know, but my energy is being all used up in my noggin with all that is ahead of me...freedom from this dreadful job, learning to do such fun creative stuff, moving my life in a direction where I can feel proud of what I do each day.

Wish me luck!!!

p.s. "life-choice" makes it sound like you just went full lesbian.

p.p.s. not that there's anything wrong with that.
